Right on Target

I had a level 2 sonogram last week (thanks to the gestational diabetes) and baby Audrey is right on target weighing in at 2lbs. 11oz. My blood sugars have been on a normal level 98% of the time. The only time it gets high is when I go out to eat, but I have started ordering salads and that has helped a lot with keeping my blood sugars at a normal level. It also gives me freedom to have a normal social life which I really like! That's all I really have to report. I'll have another level 2 sono in a few weeks to keep track of her weight. I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day!

Registration Nightmare!

Good Grief! That's all I can say about the baby registry process. I guess I got spoiled when I registered for my wedding because of my last name. Nobody had my maiden name in the state of Texas. All the people who wanted to buy us something from our registry just typed in my maiden name and VOILA!, our registry came up. Not the same with my very common and well used married name. We are registered at Pottery Barn Kids and Babies R Us. Now on Pottery Barn, we come right up. Not the case with Babies R Us. We are on page 3 or something like that. Sometimes it varies and we come up on the first page or so. A friend of mine who lives in Nebraska said she found us on page 4. She said she almost gave up because there were so many Jessica J's in the city of Dallas that it wasn't funny. So to my out of state friends, here is the registry #: 48738423. This will pull the registry right up. I have to admit that I am glad that the registry is done. There was so much stuff that the "book" said that every newborn needs. I just don't see how a newborn can need all of Babies R Us suggestions. Maybe I am wrong. We'll see. So basically Pottery Barn is for bedding stuff and the room colors/decorating and Babies R Us is for just about everything else. I LOVE Pottery Barn bedding. I have to admit that I really wanted custom bedding, but now that I have the bedding in (came last week) I love it so much more then the custom bedding. Very similar colors and can be used during toddler years. This was important to me because I didn't want something that screamed NEW BABY and then have to look for something else in a couple of years. The custom bedding would have lasted through toddler years, but I was not spending $700+ on baby bedding. I just can't do it! This is not a cut to all who have done custom bedding. I have some friends who got custom bedding for much cheaper. I just couldn't find what I liked for a smaller price tag until Pottery Barn Kids!
The crib and dresser came in last weekend so we picked that up. I love it! It has a couple of issues with the drawers, but my husband is fixing it for us. He good at stuff like that! I feel like this blog is very random. My mind just can't focus on much of anything anymore. Oh well! Have a great week everyone!

Oh the places you have been!

Well since I have no idea what future travels Audrey will have once she is here, I can tell you where she has already been.
Before I knew I was pregnant I went to New York with some of my girlfriends. We had a wonderful time and saw so many things. I was very glad I got to go in the early-early stage before I became sick. New York wouldn't have been nearly as fun had I been sick. I was also glad I had a lot of my energy still because we walked everywhere! I think I have some pictures somewhere so I'll look at hopefully post some later. Since New York I have taken Audrey all over Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and most recently Florida! St. Augustine to be exact. My husband and I decided to go on a short "baby-moon" before everything goes crazy with a new baby. I had been to St. Augustine 10 years before with one of my best friends Sara. Actually we only spent a day there and mainly stayed in Jacksonville, but I digress. So we left for 4 great days. St. Augustine is a great little town for older people, couples with young children and people who want a relaxing atmosphere. I do not suggest bringing teenagers b/c they will most likely get bored. We stayed right off the ocean and ate at some great restaurants. I'm actually all seafood-ed out! For those of you who don't know, St. Augustine is the oldest town for the US. I'm not a huge history buff, but even I had fun with all the older sights to see. Again, pictures will come later. They are still on the camera! All in all the trip was great. My favorite part though was the walks on the beach. I love the beach. I think I could sit for hours and just watch the ocean and walk all up and down the beach. It was a great mini-vacation before Audrey's arrival. Now we are pretty much Texas bound for awhile and I am okay with that.

I'll post pictures soon!
